I don't know if this is the right place to post this or not, but I was wondering what was the best way to magnetize a tau crisis suit. I haven't ever done anything like this before and I have no idea on what size magnets to use or the drill bits and other things I need to place the magnets. Thanks in advance for the help.
Do remember that the forum has a search function. ;Y
Here's one which contains a couple more links: (Magnets)http://www.librarium-online.com/forums/showthread.php?t=95622
It does deal more with magnetizing Tyranids, but from there you should be able to extrapolate what you might need for Crisis suits.
"The meat things seek to destroy ourselves. They hunt us as we hunt them but they are weak and uncertain. The inferior flesh will be entirely destroyed, all biomatter consumed. Ourselves will fight to the last, all weak flesh must be devoured."
I used those for magnatising the new chaos lord in terminator armour, does a pretty solid Job
i used 1.5 mm diameter and 1.5 mm length magnets. Got them from amazing magnets
2 go into each crevice on the arm, 2 go in the place where the stub was that went into the crevice on that weapon. you need to drill a small hole there.i even mounted magnets on the shoulders.
The reason why there are 2 is that if you choose the polarity correctly the weapon can only be mounted one way and can not rotate under an uneven load. It however makes that you need a few more magnets.
If you magnetize everything including the target lock and shield generator and have parts for twinlinked weapons you'll need 32 magnets iirc per suit. But the cost of one magnet is so low, it's really cheap to do so.
