As title suggests I'm looking to build some plastic deathwatch marines using what is given from the various sprues. While looking at the pictures from how to paint a space marine book, I found inquisition shoulder pads to be on the left shoulder while the plastic shoulder pad provided are all for the right should. Just would like to know what people think, whether I should glue it on the right shoulder so it fits or adjust it and glue it to the left so it fits in with the fluff.
Please let me know what you all think, especially if there is another way I haven't thought of.
In my opinion, definitely left, as this is "the look" for Deathwatch. I know what you mean about the plastic pads though, it's not the end of the world, but then I bought the metal pads anyway!
On a side note this probably belongs in the conversion forum as it's an assembly rather than painting issue
Basically deathwatch ya'll probably know is a chapter made up from different chapters. Deathwatch is the boondocks duty where the best from each chapter go to serve. Deathwatch is made up of all veterans so you
could sport a variety of chapters, with that being said, you'll need an exquisite bits collection and shoulder pads.
I mean getting the basic marine parts will be easy but you'll have to identify chapters that make up the watch.
You'll probably be looking for a ton of different chapter shoulder pads, and veteran sprue.
On side note. Deathwatch marines are coated all black per say chapter symbols, Yes its a grim duty hence
they all must be depressed or something if they're just wearing black. But hey I guess it symbolizes something.
I'm not too worried about bits, as I have some spare commander and command squad boxes. the issue is whether to stick the deathwatch shoulder pad on the left side as where it should be or the right side where it fits properly.
And sorry for posting in the wrong section.
Left side is more codex appropriate, as for aesthetics its all up to you how you want to convert your deathwatch chapter.
