Hello all just thought I'd let you know about a conversion I'm attempting for my new chaos force.
I want to give my lord a Tzeentch mount , but as there is no model for that for 40k I have to make something. Instead i have chosen to pilfer the flying mount from the fantasy battle lord (here) , and convert the lord I am getting to fit it.
This is the lord I have chosen as I like his look far more than the other lord in power armour.
I'm going to chop off the space marine head that he has his boot on, probably take his foot off at the ankle too and green stuff mod it so that it can take the base at an angle, I'm hopeing to get a dramatic pose by angling it as if he is slowing down just before striking someone, I'm also going to use the halberd form fantasy battle as his demon weapon, which I may green stuff to make more demonic and beefy, or I may not. I haven't decided yet.
Any feed back/suggestions will be much appreciated and ill post some piccys when I actually get the models and start work.
I dunno, the new chaos sorcerer lord in terminator armour on that mount would look pretttttttty sweet
There are more Discs of Tzeentch available in the classic Citadel Collection:
Also - I haven't seen the new Pastic Sorceror Box (other than in a WD), but it looks like you should be able to customize it to suit your needs. Would be easier to work with.
Shut up and play.
nillic: yeah he would very cool but as I want to use him for games I cant use the Termie lord: as Termie lords cannot legally use mounts. The chaos lord that I was saying I'm not fond of is this one.
Lamenter: They do look cool, and I have an idea in the future that might make Raptors from using disks, but as I live in the UK the American store isn't really useful to me as I don't want to pay international P&P if I can avoid it.
Well in that case, use the UK store:
Shut up and play.
To me that lord really doesn't scream Tzeentch...at all.
And the fact it's a metal-mini who's stance you can't just use as it is, also makes it seem like quite a poor choice.
What is the rest of you army? It seems like if you are going for a Thousand Sons-heavy list and to then use a lord without any resembelance to them at all, seems somewhat bad.
I have used the Dark Angels special Librarian as a basis for my disc-lord and his body is like made to be put on a disc.
You could also use the plastic Dark Angels and even the Black Templars as a basis for this conversion. You can then take it as far as you wish, anything from just using TS shoulderpads and head to the whole Evilkenivil-kit.
That's a good point, I should have mentioned that I have a Tzeentzh head for the Sargent sprue from my chaos marines. Also its 2 thousand sons army and a Slanesh Raptor squad in my 1000 point army and same but with obliterators, defiler and howlers in my 1500 point force, or it will be anyway because ill be giving him a Tzeentch weapon and the thousand sons colour scheme I hope to make him look the part, but I guess ill just have to see. If I don't like it hell I'll just get a proper sorcerer to be my main army leader and use the champion sa a second in larger battles.
Ill keep what you said in mind though, I guess it doesn't exactly scream tzeentch, at least atm so ill have to give it that extra amount of love.
