Yes! Definatly, pretty original too!
Yes, but not fluffy.
it could be cool. but most likely not.
no, it is the sucks.
ok before you read, please take a look at this witch hunter model: CLICKY MY MONKEY SMELLY BUTTON
ok so, here is my question: Would it be cool (fluff aside) and rules wise cool if i turned that guy into a Callidus Assassin? an Eversor assassin?
i can easily change that plasma pistol into either the Neural Shredder for the callidus, or the bolt pistol / needle pistol for the eversor.
that metal hand needs very little help to make it into a 'neuro-gauntle' for the eversor.
however, i have run into a road block, as to what i should do for the callidus's c'tan phase sword. at first, i was thinking of like an elongated tekko-kagi kind of like the ones Wolverine uses. But im not sure if that is swordy enough for the c'tan phase sword, or if it could be used to represent both a phase sword and a neural-gauntlet. (seeing as how the gauntlet is a glove anyways, im not sure)
other cool ideas would be a super dooper cool base of some sort, bending his legs a bit to make him look like he was jumping, or running.
so like. main reason i am limited here with just this model for my assassin is
1. i am broke
2. i dislike the look of the current assassins
3. did i mention im broke?
4. i really need something cool to convert that i can use in my army.
all suggestions are welcomed.
also one last question, the callidus is fluff wise a chick. now that witch hunter model, although obviously a guy, one could argue it is a very butch woman. which, for a witch hunter, wouldnt be uncommon. and the eversor is a guy. but i wanna sorta convert this model so i can use it as one of the other, of course, i would announce it at the beginning of the game, or make a sliding thing on the base to slide according to which one im using during the game. is this a good idea? and if so, what else that i have yet to mention, can i add on it, and also, if i did mention an idea that u like, can u expand on it.
i am an intermediate converter that is slowly getting better and better....
thanks for your time and thought.
EDIT: REP for anyone who gives me their piont of view (Good or bad) or any thoughts on how to make the conversion better!

i dont now really, i like the theory but i dont think it would turn out as well as you think, personaly the choice of base model isnt the best, why dont you try to 40kalise a dark elf assasin??
PROUD TO BE IN THE BRITISH ARMY.
~~ Surrender and serve me in life, or die and slave for me in death~~
Hmm... I'm sure you could work something out, and that it would be ok if you just use it with your friends. Thing is I want to really see what a model represents. What you're suggesting only makes it look like a converted Inquisitor, which would make me think "Cool =][=!". An Eversor Assassin is distinquished by it's skull-mask and I would have a hard time accepting a substitute for it unless it has a skull mask.
A Callidus have that polymorphine-drug which makes it able to transform into nearly any human-sized creature, be it Eldar, Ork or Tau. So having it polymorphed into a =][= (ie. use that model) could show that it's trying to close in on some renegades led by a radical Inq. or something.
BTW i think that that inqusitor was limited release
it was originally going to be in the witchhunter retinue box but plans changed
so that idea may of got killed then unless you have one or can find one
hmm... maybe if i have parts of his body randomly converted using like ork/tau/eldar limbs and whatnot i could make him look like his is morphing and whatnot, thus making it a valid callidus conversion.
so anyways, what are ur ideas to help me make this a legal callidus conversion? any ideas i mentioned so far cool? or yah....
Well, yeah I would go with my suggestion with the polymorphed Inq. Get your hands on a blade and replace the pointing hand with one holding a sword (=phase sword) and then convert the pistol so it looks more like a neural shredder. Done!
Or better yet...
Sell/Trade the Limited Edition Witch Hunter Inquisitor. I'm SURE he's worth more than a Callidus or Eversor, or any other assasin. The only thing that distinguishes this model from the normal WH Inq IS his plasma gun and pointing finger. If you get rid of those/convert those, you might as well have had the normal model. And then the world would be down one more Limited Edition version of that model, never to be replaced. Its worth more than what youre planning on using it for.
Heck, its a great model in and of itself. I'd trade you a Callidus and an Eversor for this guy. (PM me if you'd like to work something out, we'll see what we can do ^_^) I've seen this guy gor for about $15-25 US pretty easily on Ebay. More than enought to get an assassin or two.
Really, I'd wait until your not broke, or go and trade him for a model that would fit better into the role of an assassin.
If you do plan on going ahead and modding him, the only 'illegal' conversions are these:
1. Using non-GW models
2. Using Lord of the Rings models (copyright issues with New Line Cinema)
3. Models that are not WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get)
Anything beyond that is fair game. You can make up fluff to make the model work (within reason) in the 40K universe.
I definetely think that you could make a nice conversion.
It would take a lot of work!
The model you base it on is metal (even more work and much harder to get a decent result with than if you work in plastic)
The model you base it on is really nice as it is...
So... Go ahead if you're looking for a challenge and is confident and have an idea you believe in... Otherwise do something else. There are many other projects you could use this model for where the results probably would be better and result in less grey hairs on your head
Not all Callidus assassins are chicks. there are male Callidus, too. It is just that women can cope better with the drug they use to change their form (Polymorphine???).
So you are perfectly fine using a guy. On the other hand, Callidus assassins have replcaed Genestealers (Meh' Lindi) and Orcs so I think posing as a man shouldn't be too much of a problem.
Shut up and play.
