Here's one a buddy of mine suggest for the Word Bearers, I hope it's helpful, and the author certainly did nice work. http://www.wideopenwest.com/~tinweas...ostle_tut.html
Asking around, no one has told me any great tutorial for 13th Company, but I'll take some time and internet dive about and see if I can come up with anything. Good luck!
I can't comment on the 13th Company, but as I've been painting a lot of Word Bearers recently I can tell you how to paint a great looking dark red armour.
Start with a basecoat of Red Gore.
Highlight this with Red Gore, Blood Red 4:1 leaving the recesses and a bit of a shadow.
Highlight this further with Red Gore, Blood Red 1:1 going for the areas that will be getting some light.
Highlight this with Red Gore, Blood Red 1:4 going for only the areas that will be receiving a lot of light.
Line the sharp edges that are facing the light source with Blood Red.
Finaly, give the whole model a wash of Magenta Ink (wash being Ink to water 8:3)
Sorry I have no pics to go along with this...
sorry for going a wee offtopic on this but how did he do the lighting effects around the eyes and and mace, that glow that spills over onto the shaft etc?
once again, sorry for offtopic-ing :c
