OK, so this guy's been staring me down for a while. I found him amongst some old stuff, and for some reason felt compelled to keep it. For those who don't know...it's a Hydra from Hercules!
And I got thinking,
"Wow, with a bit of work that thing could be a decent Hierophant."
And so I come to LO, seeking advice, help and most likely a fair degree of burning.
From the pics below, is it workable? With a bit of converting and a decent paintjob, could it be the fearsome creature it deserves? Or is it destined for the junk pile...?
Tell me what you think.
(PS: The Trygon is for scale purposes, as is the little red spot which is actually a Termagant)
Oh, and look what it can do! Maybe when it runs out of mass points?

The Great Plague meets The Devourer of The Galaxy. What does that make us?
yep cant see a picture....
Please make your pictures work! instead of using msn, try using village photos or something, i am really excited to see what your nid looks like!!!
So sorry guys, shows up on my pc but clearly not on yours. I'll edit the first post with the proper pics now, tell me if this works.
Now I'm wondering if it was worth the wait.
EDIT: Linked to the pics via Photobucket, these are working for me; hopefully you can all see them. Thanks for looking!

I can see it now. And that's hilarious.
Practically, i think it would be easier to build from scratch.
It looks too stylised to really work, as I see, but don't let that put you off trying.
Cervantes: In order to attain the impossible, one must attempt the absurd.
8Y Yep, it's crazy, ridiculous and never been done before. Which is the exact reason I think it could work.
I mean, compared to the bottle bottom Drop Pod or the Coke can Carnifex, it's a modelling marvel (this sentence had waaaay too much alliteration for my liking). OK, so it'll never fly at a GW or tournie, but seriously, the ratio of friendly to competitive games can't be far off about 20 : 1.
Besides, how could I resist adding, I dunno, Action Man bio-cannons?
If I decide to go ahead with this, I'm pretty sure that somewhere along the line, I'll either slip into the mentality of a 3 year old, or a raving lunatic. But it's fun to be 3, and I never got the point of sanity.
Here's to lunacy. :drinking:

I dont know. Its a little cartoony, but i think with some work it can be done. However, its a very large model, so it may take a lot of work.
Good luck to you :drinking:
