Shouldnt this be in the Rules Development section rather than the modelling section?
Not now that I have changed it.

hehe, ok. I was also planning something like this. I wanted to make a Warlord stand-in with a Mammoth tank-esque warmachine, built from the hulls of 4 Baneblades. Obviously the cost would have skyrocketed(it would have totaled over 400$).
In anycase I would love to see a Warhammer Tank with 4 sets of tracks.
No kidding...that would defiantly be expensive...What would be better would be to buy one Baneblade kit, and then spend the time to reproduce the majority of its hull structure from plasticard.
As to the Warhammer, f you can imagine, a standard Mars-pattern Baneblade would be roughly the same length as the rear track (maybe a little longer, but not much). This thing is really going to be massive once I get it done.
I just hope I can get my group to let me use it more than once...
That thing is going to be the size of 4 baneblades? ;? Ridiculous!!! It might as well BE the table. LOL.
Seriously though, that'll be huge, and it will take up more than its fair share of the board. I probably wouldn't mind such a massive tank to stand in for a Warlord Titan, though I believe a Warlord would be a more impressive project. But I digress.
How do you plan on modeling such a beast of a machine? That'd be a TON of plasticard. thick cardboard or foamcore might be an alternative, but may not be quite as rigid.
How do you plan on doing the tracks? 1/35 scale tank treads barely big enough for a baneblade conversion, or so I'm told, but this beast would need much larger treads, I would think. So unless you can find treads from a larger tanke model, or you're gonna have to model them yourself. Any plans?
What armaments are you going to give it? Looks like two large-calibur cannons are the name of the game (looks like they could almost breach-load a Leman Russ, LOL), any others planned?
An ambitious project for Apocolypse, but should be pretty rewarding if you manage to finish it.
For your tank, maybe twin-linked Volcano Cannons on the turret? Along with a side of Twin-linked Missile Launchers on the side?
If you guys run over to the Rules Development forum, you'll see the datasheet I've worked up for this beast.
Construction: Well, like you say, it's gunna be huge! Everything here is going to be made from scratch (well, with a few IG and Space Marine sprues thrown in). I'm using a combonation of custom-cast resin parts (the treads), plasticard, and matting board for this project. I've based the tread design off of that found on the Baneblade, and once I've finshed the prototype tred, I can caste the whole lot in a relitivly short space of time.
Armament: A pair of twin-linked Volcano cannons does sound good actually...but I don't know that I could justify it. That would be a HUGE power drain, and even the Shadowsword (albeit MUCH smaller), still needs to deactivate its engine to recharge the power cells after every shot. Like I said, see the other forum for the full spread on this monstrosity.
As a side note: This model is going to be HIGHLY detailed. I want to use this in games, yes, but I don't know how often I'll be able to. So, mostly, this is going to sadly end up being a good photoshoot and display model.
