Good idea go for it!
It really sucks, go fix it!
Ok, so I really really really want one of the new lion charriots in my HE army. However the Lions don't go with my army theme.
So I was thinking. Would it be an idea to use Cold ones as "Lions"/Dragons and still use the Lion Charriot rules? And if so, which cold ones to use? DE or Lizardmen?
Man, I know a dude who's making a space marine bike out of a HE lion.
You can do it.
I'd use the newer lizardmen cold ones rather than the DE ones with their heads closer to the ground. The newer ones look more dynamic and heroic; the older models look sluggish and bad tempered. We're talking about heroic, noble dragons presumably here. Trim the skulls off and away you go. They'd look great red.
If not, you can make the older models stand more upright by cutting the back leg at the "ankle", filing and pinning. It's not too difficult, but they still look evil.
And should you go for it? Why not? Good luck!
But...Cold one chariots already exist....
And one of each of the following, they're big.
All of those look a bit evil, but could be passed as dragons with (or without) a bit of conversion.
You could try and make use of the other type of cold one... the sub species. Horned ones I think? They come with the lizard men dogs of war unit with the skinks if I recall correctly. They tend to look much more nimble and draconic than their normal counterparts.

[16:20] <@Kaiser-> I know he is.
[16:20] <@Kaiser-> He usually is.
[16:20] <@Kaiser-> Sometimes it's intentional.
[00:01] <+zubus> i love you, ya skirt wearin nothern monkey! ^_^
I think one of the links I posted was them.
Unless you had them riding it, instead of a chariot.
Or you hit them with a cattle prod...
