I want to add more Necrons to my existing list. But I'm kind of sick of old scheme. My painting has also gotten a lot better since my first scheme. Do you think it would be odd to paint the new stuff in a different scheme? I have around 2500 points already. I was thinking of adding another 2500 points ish. Almost like another army in itself. I'm just afraid it would look really weird on the tabletop? My first scheme is like a old look. I was thinkin I would paint the new necrons with a really new look?
It would depend on how you executed it. If you use the same "style" in which you painted the first set of crons and just change the colors up it may look ok. Just don't mix and match the squad with different paint schemes.
you could say. "color scheme A is squads 1 though 3,color scheme B is squad 4 through 6" or something like that.
I wouldn't go too far off the first scheme to make it into a "matching" army color scheme.
W/D/L Eleventy trillion billion/NONE/ NONE - I am STILL rulezor!
WINDMILLS DO NOT WORK THAT WAY!
If you post a pic of your existing scheme and tell us a bit about the new one or even post a pic of a test mini for that as well, it will be much easier to comment on your question.
In my opinion it can be totally OK to have two different schemes. Just say (as you already insinuated) these are two different armies from two different temples (what's the word a Necron player would use for that?) fighting together for their god(s).

Well I hope it doesnt look stupid becuase Im going to use it on my high elves (with a lot more than 2 colour scheme.) I say go for it and if it doesnt work then stick to using 2500 point armies
