Hey what do you guys think of me making a completely White Lion based army, I am going to be needing the Lion bits plus lions from the new chariot, I figured $10 for the peices would be reasonable. BUt what do you guys think?
Ok but what part will be the conversion, you will probably use a lot of white lions and the lion chariots but what do you intend to do with the other units.
And yeah white lion themed is cool!
would that include cavalry riding Lions for a complete "awesome" factor?

Also, you should include some black lions, they could be like the "albino" white lion.
I reckon it could cost a lot in chariots mind you with all the bits you'll need, unless you can order the sprues individually from GW ?
well i plan on adding white lion (lion capes) to my spearmen, then using a few White lion chariots, my silver helms will be the legs from oop silverhelms, and the new white lions from the new chariot. I'll do some modeling to make them look unique. I think it could really come together to make a good looking army. granted i can buy the lions + bits from people, i allready have like 4 lions+bits lined up.
Here is a question, are they even worth the points that you pay for them? I mean yes, they are Str4 and they do have a 2 up save vs shooting. However, when you compare it to swordmasters, which now have 2 Str5 atacks, WS6 and that cost the same price in the new dex...I am getting a feeling that as a base unit, they arent usualy worth it. Their woodsman skill is good, but its quite useless when it comes to acting as a infantry block in the middle of the board. I mean thats what spearmen are kinda all about. As a flanking unit, they are a little cubersome, big and slow to have any serious suprise againt enemy flanks when they charge out of the woods. I mean, thats what ellyrian reavers with elyrian banner are all about.
Regarding lion chariot on the other hand, omg I simply love them. They are ultra fantastic, the only thing that angers me is their theme and fluff. Having one in you army without including white lion units is kinda ... unfitting, if you pay any attention to theme.
So my question is, how would you make an army featuring white lions period? My guess is that you will maybe 1 or 2 units of 20 or so?
Yeah they may not be as good as s.ms but the s.ms are kind of overpowered. Plus w.ls are stubborn now and have str6. ws5. Also they're fun. But giving spears the lion cloak doesnt realy work fluff wise as a str3 elf isnt very likely to have killed a lion with its bare hands are they? You could give the champion a cloak and mabye add a cloak to the banner some how.

THe army isnt going to be all white lions, its going to be themed around them, I'll probably have about 30-40 white lions and 2-3 white lion chariots then 8-16 (silverhelms) mounted on Lions just for the look.
Dont know if you realy care or not, but I am also making sort of a themed army. Except mine is a little different, I try to focus on a pure HE theme without any particular focus. Its a bit hard to explain, but I feature mostly spearmen, swordmasters, archers, tyranoc chariots, silver helms and RBT. So basicaly all models are in standard Elf armor and look like soldiers HE navy. I mean they wouldnt realy include white lions, their chariots, phoenix guards and dragon princes on a ship to ship battle or during an invasion from the sea so I was kinda focusing on that.
