I have personaly never met a fantasy player who actualy had a spear man phalanx that he was proud of. Every one's units seem disorganized, giving a feeling that kids with swords and spears on the field would have been better disciplined. For empire, ok, but highly trained elves? Unacceptible, so here is my way of modeling a 3 row spearmen phalanx. Even in the armies of professional GW employees whose armies made their way to the codex have nothing to show about their posing skills. So, Enjoy...
For the record, the second row is made of oop charioteers with pointing spears. I didnt get a chance to stick the shields on them. The 1st, 2nd and 4th row is nothing but a lot of posing with standard spearmen. Fist row has swords to hold off the enemy while the back rows do all the poking.
I like this, I like this a lot.
3000 Ogre Kingdoms
3000 Chaos SM
very nicely done, the whole sword in front spears in back is so simple but yet so great
and the chariot models also nicely fitted in.
"your the sculpting tool i never had"
I say; Paint them up real nice and send the guys at WD a picture of it. It's eally good!
