For a 6" by 4" table, how much paint would I need?
I'm going to paint both sides in black, and to then drybrush one side in codex grey and then fortress grey. The other side will be in dark flesh, bubonic brown and bleached bone. So 6 colours in total.
Going to the hardware store to get them mixed in a few days so a quick reply would be great!:C
For the black you'll need at most a pint or one of those small cans. As for the others just go down to a craft store like Michaels and buy two or three at most of the 2oz. bottle of paint. This stuff goes along way when being dry brushed.
And as soemthing else for you to think about. When you're doing the first coat of black mix in some dirt and rocks. This will give you a textured surface on whihc the highlighting from the drybrushing will really show up. Good luck and drop me a line if you have any other questions.
Also add 10% PVA glue and maybe a little water to your basecoat. This will toughen up the paint somewhat and reduce chipping. If you mix in dirt and sand with the basecoat, adding glue will stop the grains chipping loose as they would if only held down by paint. I prefer to add sand & grit first then seal with PVA glue rather than mixing it in with the paint.
