    Chaos Terminators (pics)

I finally have my metal Terminators complete! Just wanted to show 'em off...

These two have been painted for awhile. They basically were the test miniatures for my paint scheme

    Recently finished

    Also recently completed

The oddball terminators... The guy on the right with the green skin was probably painted 16+ years ago by me. That miniature has been the inspiration for this paint scheme.

So what do I do to celebrate? Simple! Get the box with the new chaos termies as well as the lord!! I guess I'm just a sucker for punishment....

    A) Excellent painting. They are all very cool.

    2) I love that Scorpion Termie. That looks great.

III) The second picture, last Termie: What did you use to get that red? That is the color I picture my Termie Lord in my mind. I just have no idea how to put it on the model.

    Again, major props to you.

wntrrvn, looks like gore red, and possibly some scab red over black primer.

I don't remember exactily, but probably

    Grey primer
    Red gore (or mechrite red)
    thin black paint wash
    thin red ink wash
    thin brown ink wash
very thin layer of Minwax polyshades antique walnut.

That's a best guess, and I'm not sure. These termies were sitting on my desk for a long, long time, getting little bits of detail or color done to them. The trick is many thin washes, with lots of time in-between to let them dry.

Nice work - good use of washes for a nice finished effect. The scorpion is brilliant.

They are cool looking. I like the colours you have chosen for your Terminators. I that aside from the oddball scorpion bloke I have seen before, my favourite is the one with the axe and the rhinosceros-like head.

I think the only thing they could really benefit from would be to take some bleached bone and a small drybrush to the horns and tusks. If you did the ridges on them could be very nicely brought out. You could then just apply some matt varnish for protection. I find matt varnish works well on bone areas.

Again I think they are very good and you should be proud of them.

Those colors are fantastic, as are the models. I love the scorpion especially.
