I'm new to the forum, but have been into GW (Mostly 40K) for 12 years.
I recently popped in to the Cambridge GW to pick up the Apocalypse Rule book and was inspired to pick up the files, glue and paint brushes once again after 5 years.
I have been working on a Witch Hunters force with lots of Sisters and I'm pretty pleased with the level of painting I have managed to acheive. HOWEVER! I have gotten a little bored of painting Sisters (after 40-50 Models) and decided to bring some Storm Troopers in, using the Kasrkin models. My problem is that I have no Idea and/or inspiration about how I should paint them.
I want to avoid using Camo patterns so as to keep them looking like Inquisition Henchmen and not like a Imperial Guard unit. My initial thoughts were to go for black armour and red fatigues, the problem is that as cool as it looks, it is way to similar to the Sisters colour scheme I'm using.
If I did IST I'd basecoat them a very dark grey (1:1 shadow grey:black) with scaly green shoulderpads etc...
And over there we have the labyrinth guards.
One always lies, one always tells the truth, and one stabs people who ask tricky questions.
Another simple solution would be to have dark red armor and black fatigues. As it would be the inverse of your sisters' scheme and still keep the same colors.
I think I'm gonna try the red armour with black fatigues ...
I will post some pics later of my Sisters' and the experimented on Storm Troopers
once I have located my camera.
Well, i would give them the same color scheme as your inquisitor, that will set them apart from the siters, i wouldn't personally go for red and black as they are a seperate force from the sister... how's about bone coloured armour with black cloth?
You'll retain army coherency because of the black, but the 2 armyfactions do look like the seperate entities they are!
Got a "good" rumour from a GW staffer? Forget about it, LO'ers know more than any random GW shop staffer.
