So I'm off on the road to my new IG army and I've hit a few speed bumps. My army consists of all Grenadier/Storm Troopers and models being represented by them.
What is the easiest way to model a Storm Trooper deep striking? I was thinking of using some FW grav-chutes but since Apocolypse was released they're monthes behind on orders. The idea of using the tips of plasma guns as boosters with some wiring and plasticard seems nice, but thats A LOT of plasma guns.
In higher points games I'm going to use some normal Gaurdsmen to fill out the army. What can I do to them to make them look a bit more.......elite? Are there any metal heads with respirators or some sort of gas mask? (other than the steel legion)
i know what you said about forgeworld but still, there are cadian heads with resperaitors on from there.
PROUD TO BE IN THE BRITISH ARMY.
~~ Surrender and serve me in life, or die and slave for me in death~~
Who says they have to FLY in? I've seen some modeled as tunneling up from below.
As for respirators, I'm struggling with this concept myself right now. I figure they'll wind up being a combination of teeny pieces of plstirod functioning as "goggles" molded into greenstuffed masks.
But yeah, I considered the drop troop helmets myself. Bit too pricey, I think. If only they came with a bare-headed version in the pack!
Perhaps cut down marine/ chaos/ sororitas backpacks might do the job (I'ld go with the chaos packs myself)?
