hello everyone. I'm putting together a shopping list / idea list for my new fantasy army - Cathayans (based on Empire). I was thinking of running my Lord aka karl Franz on a Dragon, but decided it was a bit too big points / dollars / gaming / modelling wise, so I decided to downsize to an unnamed Lord riding a young dragon aka griffon.
My problem is that i'm not really sure how to make / get a smaller than usual dragon. Some ideas ive has so far iclude:
Stick wings on a carnosaur
Green stuff over an existing Griffon
Get a dragon and just pretend it's not as big (not a fanof this)
use a lord of the rings model
I have seen some of the classic / older dragons esp. the "young dragon" models from the US Catalog, but most aren't based so I cannot judge their size. does anyone have any ideas for conversion or does anyone have any good dragon models that are griffon sized?
also, i would prefer to stay GW models as this would be used at GW events...
Not really sure of any ideas that'd help you, but I THINK the rule where you cant combine LotR parts with the other ranges still exists for events, so that idea may not work. Also, I think having wings on a carnosaur would probably be bigger than a normal dragon, not to mention rather heavy ;o.
