These ideas depend on some good GS skill, but heres a few ideas:

Arm: Use a fex arm, but make it look like its its breaking out from inside the normal CC arm.

Face: sculpt a screaming/demonic face stretching out from the front of the dread. Or, instead of sculpting the whole face, use a fex head as the base, again stretching out of the dread and frobbed up to look more demon than nid.
Chief Inspector Dreyfus: Are you wounded?
Clouseau: No. Fortunately I was saved by the darkness.
Chief Inspector Dreyfus: So what we need is more light.

The spawn heads are cool, and the box is packed with a metric ton of bits you can use on the dread, but the heads strike me as a bit small.
