Here is my Demon Prince for my tale of painters entry for January.
Overall, I'm happy with how he came out. I basically went for what was on the box of the Demon Prince.
Here he is:
I kind of felt the sword could have been better, and had some errors using zap a gap for a filler on the head - see the large bulb, but for a decent tabletop, I'm good.
He's very cool looking. I like how you have marged the reds and blacks, that looks very good. I also think you have used your colours well as he isn't too dark or too bright. The conversions you have done to him work too. His head has a good look to it. That kind of look will be very distinctive and earn him a reputation among your opponents, especially if you give him a name.
I think other details such as the trophies work well too. If you want to do more to him you could try to add a few more highlights. I would say here and there such as a little white on the tips of bone-like parts of him. I think he is very good though.
Looks rather fine, especially like the conversion work . One thing which seems to look a bit odd is how the skin is highlighted quite a lot, yet the wing membranes dont appear to be much at all. It might, of course, just be the photo not showing it, but it just looks a bit weird to me . Also, I think the blade coming out of his hand where the kai gun is on the basic model looks a little bit TOO shiny, especially for chaos, might be worth darkening it a bit.
It looks good,i really like the head conversion, the horns/spikes look great, and the paint job is great.
The manticore wings really suit the daemon prince model, much better then the dragon wings everyone else uses!
I found them on eBay and got them with shipping for eight bucks. Here is a link to them on the US GW online store.
Notice that this is just for the left wing. I honestly can't find the right one though.
Maybe your hobby shop can help with that, or direct order can maybe help as well.
Thanks for all the compliments guys!
