Hello all, thought i'd come in and make my 2nd post on the forums my recent work on some scenery i'm doing for my new table.
FULL TABLE SHOTS:
CHAPTER MONESTARYleft side)
CHAPTER MONESTARY: (right side)
CHAPTER MONESTARY: (together)
That it for now. I will put up finished pics of the scenery if anyone is interested.
Ah very nice start. Now lets see how you can paint.
Looking rather good sofar mate. It should shape up to be quite a board when you have finished.
Can't wait to see it complete.
Looks good mate.
I suggest you get something on top of the wood, since painting wood tends to leave the patterns in the wood visible. Unless you use a lot of thick paint...
And the buildings look cool
Thanks. I plan on painting the buildings as soon as I get the final square finished. (have one building base left to build on).
and my painting is probably a 5-6 on a 1-10 scale.
As far as the table itself, I'm going to be doing a "scorched earth" look to it.
Black basecoat a couple times, then paint in by hand, roads and etc, then pull out the airbrush and hit it with grays and browns. then go in and highlight with a bit of gray mixed with a lighter brown.
Hoping that will get rid of the swirl pattern the wood makes (with the different grain in the plywood.) and it'll come out smooth.
A good start....need moar buildings!
Thanks for the responses. I am starting to paint one today, I will get the pics up as soon as I get home.
Also, it's a pain in the butt because here in hawaii, there is NO pink or blue Insulation foam on the Big island. it sucks. I have to use the normal beaded stuff with a sharp sharp click knife.
Nice, cant wait to see it with a lick of paint
WIP tau project coming soon.
Out of intrest (and also because my school club needs some terrain, playing on normal school tables sucks) about how big is the board that youve used?, cause it looks about the right size for the games we play.
see my lighting a monolith project..
