OK, so a friend shows me a really cool illustration, and I look at it and I think to myself...
"I have zero greenstuff skill, but i fancy trying that"...
Famous last words indeed... so this is the picture I thought could be my second sculpt (taloned horror has a fully sculpted upper body and head)...
So this is the progress after a weekend, with a few notes. Sorry for the huge pics, but it good for you guys to see all the detail and the flaws up close. It helped me as I went along to sit back and analysis each stage.
Heavily filed down legs, which were repositioned at the knees and pinned together.
Arms and head go on... its taking shape
Ut-oh, I hit a problem! Shadowsun's guns (I mean her weapons btw) are massive! I had to make a miniature fusion blaster to fit the scale.
2 Fusion guns and a bra later she hooks up with Barry the Shas La for scale purposes.
Armour starts to go and is proving tricky
More armour and the start of the hands, 2 pence coin really shows how small this piece is to work with.
Starting to look a little feminine with some hair.
Wrist mounts and jet pack added
The jet pack is made from 2 xv8 target locks, a devilfish sensor spine cut up, a fusion gun canister and 2 XV25 target locks, and an xv25 drone controller
And finally with hands and some tidied up details
Images should be no larger than 700 pixels wide. ~LN
Some of your GS work is great, the hair for example and the overall shape of the body. It is rather crude and could use some smoothing out, though. I realize the model is small, but some of your GS could be thinner. Very nice ambitious work for only your second try. Might I ask what the is the *ahem* tactical flexibility in removing her torso armor?
That looks sweet dude! I need to start practising my greenstuff skills to, but I hate the stuff so much, and without a proper tool, its a little hard.
show us when its done
Brilliant work matey, given your experiance or lack of in sculpting, A1!
I notice you skip rather briefly over how to do the head/ face - always a challenge I find
want to see the finished article painted!
Everything you have been told is a lie!
Very "Anime" in my opinion and with a Tau army thats a good thing as i get that feel from a lot of units like battlesuites.
i always thought that shadowsun as our only example of a tau female was a bit...butch, nice work my man, rep heading your way!
PROUD TO BE IN THE BRITISH ARMY.
~~ Surrender and serve me in life, or die and slave for me in death~~
I must admit I don't like the face, but the rest is superb. it's not that the face is bad sculpting, it's just a personal taste. The hair on the other hand is wonderful, as well as the torso (although that tactical flexibility idea is pretty good)...
You are very skilled! I am still limited to greenstuffing fur, hair, and small objects...

But anyways very interesting and well exectuted project for a newbi to greenstuffing. Keep it up.
That's some nice GS work, Gareth. Very nice considering it is your second attempt.
Why do I want to collect a Tau force now?!? Must... stop.... must resist...
[walks away to stare with love at the Celestine model]
REP for you Sir for starting a GS project with no experience as you said...
