Well I jsut got accepted to Rochester Tec. college for film and animation, so my senior year in high school I decided to take a few different film oriented classes. This has given me the opertunity to mess around with some serous editting equpiment and that eventually lead to my finding the green screen button.
My plan is to use a few battlefleet gothic ships I had laying around and make a corny looking but high quality space battle. Its a long process and the green screen has been tough to work on with the small models but Im getting close. the testing phase is almost complete and the actual short(which will all in all take about 30-50 seconds to watch) will start production. The picture below is to give you an idea of whats going on and Ill update it once the green screening is perfected. This is going to be awsome when all is said and done.
The shadow is from the flash on the camera as the real film sequences cant have any background shadows.
Mods I wasnt really sure where this should go so move it as you see fit.
RIT? I'm an alum, myself, congrats. If I recall, you said you wanted to do stop motion. You will have a great teacher in Tom Gasek, if he sticks around next year. Beware of Nancy Beiman, try to stay on her good side as she can be very moody and gruff, there is a lot you can learn from her too.
Move the green screen back just a tad. It might be your camera, but I think I see some green spill on the model. Good luck, it should be nice practice.
Are you going to preserve the grand scifi tradition of having a universal 'up'?
And over there we have the labyrinth guards.
One always lies, one always tells the truth, and one stabs people who ask tricky questions.
That sounds like a superb project!!!
Cant wait to see the final cut! Youtube it too maybe??
I've seen a lot of cheesy stop motion shorts using warhammer figures... it'll be nice to see one that has actual production values lol
keep us posted
i am very exited about this movie... i will rate its awesomeness on a scale of 1-10. Extra points if you include random quotes from Dawn of War!
