Hi folks! (im new to this forum, A nice 'Hello' to everyone!)
I got myself some grey knights lately. I wanted to paint them red at first, but after i tried it at one figure i don't like it as much. Also, i would like to go after their background (painting "grey" knights "red is kinda weird)
Now i found these Grey Knights on coolminiornot:

I would not paint them pink, but i really like this shade of grey for the power armour. How can i get this right? I would be thankful for every advice on the colors and technique! (i haven't got that much experience with black-grey except standard drybrushing)
What i thought of was:
Power armour - Dark grey
Details - Bleached Bone like in the picture (i guess scorched brown - vermin brown - bleached would be right, would it?), red seals
Force Weapon - Either grey like in the pic, but i also thought of Blue Ink
(Higher ranks should have weapons with greater 'looks' cause of the greater power - still got to think about that)
Thanks for your time and patience!!
Edit: but the tone of this armour is also nice!

well, i see it as quite fluffy. I just don't like the usual Metal-painting, since i painted loads of necrons
Anyway, they are the 'Grey Knights', and GW changed the color scheme frequently... i think it would fit
I would pick... the robacek one's... though I would love to see yours. 8Y
Thanks to all the people showing faith in me
I sometimes feel that everyone will leave me and they will be on their own...
I think you should work our way up from a black base then going through the non-blue greys to something very bright (skull white?) in the extreme highlights.
Check out the many online tutorials for layering the paints.
Good luck and keep us updated with pics.
PS, Red Grey Knights do sound a bit odd...I always thought of them as orange DS
About the grey armour, would it look similar (to the first pictures) if i:
1) paint the whole armour with a mix chaos black - codex grey 1:1
2) a little more grey into the mix, but leave the darkest points
3) Highlighting with codex grey
4) Extreme highlighting with skull white (only a few 'points')
would that be the general principle? Or am i totally wrong?
Thanks for your patience
