I was reading the article about the sculpting of the shokk attack gun in the latest Australian WD and the fluff described a horrible, gribbly thing emerging from the warp. Now, that would be a conversion project!
I think I will build two models:
1) A space marine (possibly a Terminator, so there is more surface area to mess with). He would re-posed to look tortured and twisted, and bits of snotling will stick out of his joints and any gaps in his armour.
2) A horrible, gribbly thing made up from the bits of about three space marines, smashed together in a roughly humanoid shape, but combined with demon bits (green stuff) and snotling bits.
I am thinking silly ideas like a screaming snotling peeking out of his knee plates, snotling arms and legs visible in the joints and gaps. I'm not very experienced with greenstuff, so I just think I will separate the marine armour into its components, joined by tentacles and stretched fleshy looking parts, blended into hideously distorted snotling and marine faces. The basic form will still be humanoid, but blended, twisted, warped. A couple of spikes and tentacles couldn't hurt. Tentacles that end in mutated, screaming snotlings!
Sorry, I just paused to wipe some spit off the monitor.
The thing is, I haven't been able to buy the Ork Codex yet, and I am wondering if there is any reason to put this thing on the tabletop - ie a misroll on the Shokk Attack table, or am I just thinking this up because I am bonkers?
Note to moderators - I tried posting this once and it seemed to disappear, so sorry if this is a duplicate.
Zapp: You see the killbots have a preset kill limit. Knowing their weakness, I sent wave after wave of my own men at them until they reached their limit and shut down.
Hey that sounds really cool. I have no real suggestions except that for the base you could take a bunch of snotlings and suround the base with them. Then have the Mutated guy floating almost as if the power if lifting him up as he mutates. This could be really cool. I am intrigued8X
The Great Plague meets The Devourer of The Galaxy. What does that make us?
Or another one - why not have the snotling bursting out of the stomach of the marine aka Alien?
Dovie'andi se tovya sagain (It's time to roll the dice)- Mattrim Cauthon
Actually the Shok Attack Gun takes the snotling through the hose and then to Warp. Through the Warp it sends the poor snotling to the enemy, but the snotling is crazed and when it materializes it can do a lot of damage... It materializes anywhere...
So I like the idea of a snotling bursting from a SM's stomach... or you want to make it more funny... on his head!
Thanks to all the people showing faith in me
I sometimes feel that everyone will leave me and they will be on their own...
Here's a quote from that description... 'Something horrid ripped its way from the shattered Warp-tunnel into the material universe, a... monstrosity made from the twisted flesh of snotling and Warp-creature alike. Countless needle-fanged mouths screeched and screamed... the thing rose up to its full height, dwarfing the stunned Space Marines around it. Shrieking and flailing its limbs, it barreled over the crest, leaving total carnage in its wake.'
Ok, so from that it's possible to infer that it has more than a few mouths. which are fanged. It's probably Daemon Prince/Dreadnought size and has quite a few extra limbs. It's part snotling, part warp-daemon. I think some spawn kits could be useful
For the snotling coming out of a Terminator or trooper I would do this. Have the marine on his knees, arms loose by his side. The snotling could have bloodshot eyes and oversized fangs and claws. It would be coming out of the neck joint of the marine holding his helmet/head in its hands in a sort of 'cheering' pose.
Does any of this help?;Y
Now that would be really cool!
I'd recommend the usage of a Termie like you said earlier but with the snotling's face distorted and stretched as it forces itself from the thick plates of Adamantine armour, also with a monstrous arm brusting out of the Termie's neck/shoulder and multiple tentacles writhing through several gaps in the armour. Oh, have thick, serrated spikes burst from the victim's back!
Oh dear, it seems that I've joined the complete madness of this overly cool scene behind the effect of the Shokk Attack Gun, I'd say go for it! I'm excited over it already!
