Just saw it this morning, have a look at the Forge World deathguard models:
Death Guard Conversion Kit
I find myself experiencing something new: disliking something FW made. The models jsut look unimaginative and goofy.
What's your opinion about it?
I see what you mean, they do look a little weird. Actually, when I look at them the main thing I notice is that they haven't been cleaned up very well. Mould lines everywhere!
I think the main thing about the models that I don't like so much is that the helmets seem almost unfinished, like the sculptor just made the vague shape and then forgot to detail it.
terrifying!!! ooooo sooo spooky!
the last one on the bottom right looks ok, and the bloated belly is alright i guess, the first model is just ridiculous and cartoony.
Lets see how many different places we can stick a german pigsticker helm in! >< come on FW you can do better.
on the other hand, i really like the death guard terms : Death Guard Terminator Conversion Kit

I think the components in themselves are quite nice, just that the kit is incomplete. The legs, arms, backpack etc all need nurgle mutation as well - it kind of looks odd having some mutated parts and then pristine legs etc. I know this leaves room for conversion, but it would have made the kit just that little bit better IMO.
Thats my two cents, but then I like my models to be fussy - if I ever collect nurgle marines not one model will have an untouched-by-nurgle body part (hence it would take me a lifetime)
I do tend to like them, and hope that FW releases them for the all the cult troops.
Some things work really well with these models, such as the WWII German style helmets, which have always been a personal favorite when it comes to Nurgle. I'm glad to see F.W. jumping on the bandwagon and giving their plague marines plenty of tubing. However, there's too many spikes and small bits that distract from the overall model. Eh, but this has always been an issue with chaos models. My thoughts.
