This was done as quick commission/ b'day gift/ teaching models for a friend and very good customer of mine.
He wants them for WAB thus wanted them to look as historical as possible. He is a fan of Rome and asked that they were painted like Roman Auxiliaries, which involved more natural colours and muted tones.
Overall they took me less than twenty hours, so I am very happy with how they turned out for the time spent, but I would change a few minor things if I had to do them over again.
I was going to paint the PX symbol on the flag, but it would have taken me so long to do it, it would have been longer than the models itself due to the sculpt of the flag. So hopefully he can find a decal that will serve his purposes.
edit: Please keep images under 700 pixels wide when posting them directly. Thanks, -t.

Thanks but there is no dry brushing, only glazing and then layering for the metallics.
Shouldn't be they have red cloaks as the Romans? I think they had red...
Apart from that you have done, once more, an excellent job! ;Y
Thanks to all the people showing faith in me
I sometimes feel that everyone will leave me and they will be on their own...
What I have been told is the Auxiliaries came from various sources within the Roman Empire, thus they wore the colours according to tribe or faction, and if they were scouts they wore natural tones so as to blend in.Shouldn't be they have red cloaks as the Romans? I think they had red...
Got a "good" rumour from a GW staffer? Forget about it, LO'ers know more than any random GW shop staffer.
Voor alle nederlanders:
The Dutch Legion
auxilaries are not really part of the main stream roman army, and were not really well equiped or trained. they usually kept the symbols or colors of their home, but showed some allegiance via their sheilds/banner.
really awesome dude, clear crisp lines, everything is nice, they only thing i dont like is eomer, but that is more becauase of his model, i think you should try and make him "pop" a little, but thats my opinion. anyway, fabulous paint job. i really like them
