Well I figured since I can build warhounds from cardstock I minds well start making a bio titan. That and it counts as a classes grade for creative film ^.^ Anyways down to bussiness, this thing is about two hours into project and hey we have the basic shape and the likes. Its a foam core, wire legs with everything wrapped in plaster cloth for strenght and duribilty. The detail work which is going to make or break this thing is being made from sculpty and the fine details carved from green stuff.
For now shes ugly. The guns are just bases of modle magic around wire and the tail, head, and legs are still bare. Heck not even the armor plates for the back have been worked on yet. Well actually since the pictures have been taken I finished the mouth and two back plates as well as alot more leg details and one gun. Ill post those later. But yeah this is it so far.
The ripper head was put on as a joke. Its the stand in head until the real one is completely finished and ready to be glued/pinned on.
The legs plates can be seen starting to come together on this one.
I tried to get the size right by using my titna as a referance and the pictures at forgeworld as a referance of the referance. Its big!
Having recently fallen in love with the tyranid, Im really eager to see this work. Great so far!
im with captainhowdy on this one
i to have fallen in love with the FW bio titan and knowing your skills with pink foam and other materials i to am eager to see how this will turn out
Loss is acceptable, Failure is not!
Very good start,
Is it just me or does it remind anyone else of the Cloverfield monster?
Ok so after about a week of work inbetween playing brawl, working, studing, and the girlfriend this is whats been finished. The head is done as seen below. Its a mosh of green stuff, bits(I used spikes from 'nid arms for the teeth) and hot glue. And for my first seroius sculpt Ive very happy with it.
One of he legs has been mostly finished
And the workings of the first bio cannon are coming into reality. Thank god for my 'nid playing friends who have all donated varopis pieces for me to use in my construction.
And heres what everything looks like all together so far. This week Im going to start working on the back plates and thats when this thing will really start taking shape. That and some paint will really make the face come alive. Stay tuned!!
Till then enjoy the pics, comments and concerns are always welcome, and rep. will keep me off the street and out of your house ^.^

Niceeeeee I can't wait to see the finished work.
That looks cool. The size of the thing is very impressive. I like the work you have done on the head, especially the teeth. Doing teeth can be very hard. I think you have done well with the shape too. The body seem to look well proportioned which is important when making giant beasties.
I am curious, what is it? Does it have a name yet? Does it just use Hierophant rules or will you be cooking up your own rules for it?
Well being that I dont even play nids, Im most likely just going to use it as a heirophient. But I guess given some free time and thought I could makeup some house rules for it that would make it not so damn hard to kill. ^.^
