Continuing my posts about my all spider army, here are my two converted bolt throwers. I haven't gotten the crew done yet, but each bolt thrower has a gobbo aiming it and one reloading it. Again my theme is the entire army as spider/spider riders. I am just putting links to the pictures. I took most of the pictures with them off the bases to show the base details a little better, I can't decide if i want to glue them to the bases or just use them as is.
One uses an old dwarf bolt thrower for the conversion, the other is scratch built. its pretty obvious which is which, but they both look decent.
PS: these were done the same way as the others, static grass for the hairy parts, then painted up.

Wow. Well done those look great!
That is a tough choice you have there. I'm not sure if I would glue bases onto those either. If I did, I'd probably break parts of the clear plastic that comes on gyrocopter or other flying unit blisters and support them well.
I'm gonna go check out the rest of your army now.
GAH! More hairy and creepy toy spiders
Still cool all around...
