Well, as I am making my first table, I thought I'd post up my first design idea... (ignore the fact that the picture was made in paint!)
It's 6' by 4', the darker the green the higher the elevation, the light green are woods and the grey lines are pieces of ruins. The picture is approximate and simplified.
Looks-wise the board will be gloomy and dreary (though I have not figured out how to give the effect of being rained on.... yet...) and overall dark.
First, how do you like the layout? Second do you have any ideas that would add to it?
I was thinking of adding a river down the side of a hill, or a moor but I don't even know how to make one...
There is no such thing as a plea for innocence in my court. A plea for innocence is guilty of wasting my time. Guilty.

In the terrain of the week thread in the scenery folder the last post has a nice picture of a jungle I think you would/could use for inspiration, to me it looks very dark, the layout is fine but make sure you have plenty of moveable parts so you don't get too bored too fast.
