So Allonaire and I decided that although we both like goblins we can't afford the time or the cash to build an army...unless..with our powers combined we became an environmental crusader! No wait that was a TV show...
Anyhow we decided to embark on a Goblin Army and here is my first test piece. The base is not completed or eyes/teeth but you get the general idea.
What do we think?
Looking good, i like the slightly lighter color scheme than usually used, the lines on the edges of the cloth are a bit too wide however, other than that, nice!
I like it as well, which is fortunate ;-)
Not all of the goblins have three layers of cloth however, I will post the one that I have done, tomorrow I think, but as I said it only has the two layers so doesn't have the grey, which is a shame.
I did it before I had seen your test model. Next one I do will just have the grey if it only has 2 layers.
I like it very much, the highlighting seems to fit the model nicely - however i'd be concerned for your health if you did it on all kabillion goblins you get in each regiment. However the finished look will be very impressive
I detail all my armies. I even add details to zombies!
Ok so I guess I lied about the tomorrow thing, it was basically done anyway.
Here is a front and a back shot.
Are they close enough to tie in within a unit or just too different, so we have to do a unit each.
The Red background washes out all the colours but it was better than the ones all in shadow.
Should ahve waited until there was daylight, oh well.:ninja3:
Ninja is totally unrelated just liked it and was thinking about night, a ninja's natural habitat.
I'm not a fan of harsh highlights, sorry.
Do you remember Mortal Kombat? Well to quote that awesome game, I think you should Finish Him! The model looks great and you style, though very different, seems to work well. I think you should go right ahead and finish the base though as it contrasts with the rest of the model and stops it looking complete.
Minitrol: Looking good. However, i think you should make the blade more like the one on Allonairres model. Makes it look more mettalic rather than wooden. Also i think the stave holding the blade needs to have a bit of detail on it.
Allonairre: I like the facial highlights, works really well. Same advice that i gave to Minitrol about the staves holding the blade. Try to make more detailed, looking more like a branch of a tree, crudely carved into a stave.
I think they'd go well quite happily in one unit. Goblins wouldn't be too bothered about wearing the same uniforms as each other, so i think its ok to mix and match.
