I was wondering if anyone of you know how I can paint a treeman?
Any ideas are welcome.
Are you looking for technique. colors, modeling? Not sure what your aim is.
I'd suggest checking out the treemen in the WE codex for color ideas. Than go out and look at a few trees for further inspiration. Browns or grey mixes for trunks, greens for leaves. You know, like a tree. ;Y
I was aiming at some colours, I have looked in the WE armybook, but it isn't really clear wich colours are used.
So I was hoping if someone here had a cool idea, maybe even some pics. I know that a tree is brown/geenish, with green leaves, but well, what colours are just great for a treeman?
Gotcha. OK, colors. Here's a reeeeeeeaaaly old treeman I did quite a few years ago. CoolMiniOrNot - Wood Elf Treeman by TamCoan
For a base brown I generally use "Charred brown" or "Beasty Brown". I'll than do a wash of black+charred or charred, depending on which of my base colors I use. Than highlight out with your base color. For further highlights, layer with base-color+"bleached bone" or base-color+""Scrofulous Brown".
Here's a color conversion chart for reference, depending on what brand of paint you use. (I use Vallejo.) New Page 1
Really just experiment and play around with whatever colors you prefer. The worst that can happen is you don't like it and can always start over.
Thanks, like you're treeman. Any ideas are still welcome.
I suppose you could google the net for pictures of different tree types and mimic their textures. I wouldnt worry too much about what colours to use though, you can allways mix until it looks good.
