So, I am done with paying arm and leg for stuff. Need fuel money (not funny actually). My playing friends do not mind substitutions, as long as they are done in the general theme of the army and are properly painted. I am not planning on taking C'tans to any tournaments. And so decided to use these guys to finish off my Necron force.
These two models came from Reaper line if I am not mistaken, and I have gotten them at a local hobby store for under $10 ( Got them from a discount bin, but I do not think that they cost more than $4 each anyway). Not sure of their names, but one looks like a Necromancer or Liche King of sorts, and the other - Sorcerers? Witch? Elf?
Anyhow, with painting that was done in one day (not going to win any competitions) and colors drawn from the rest of my Necron army (orange scarabs) and the Codex pictures (gold for Deceiver and grey for the Nightbringer) I think that they are a good stand-ins for original GW models. And they saved me a lot of cash - just enough to buy some Armorcast goodness...
Deceiver - deceiving those silly Guardsman again... Who said she/he needs to be a guy? She looks so.... harmless (outside those white eyes). Picture does not show this too well, but the colors change from dark green into bronze and then gold and lighter gold...
The Nightbringer (base from the original model - gift from a friend, his weapon was made from Tyranid bits, original scepter, paper clip and Eldar blade?). There is also a lot more variation to the grey that what the picture shows:

Very nice for proxies!
So... if I gave some daemons a matte paint-job, would they be "Matte Daemons?"
Necron Tactica: Flying Circus
This is great work!
Starting a 'cron army, ideas like this will be very helpful. And since the c'tan's necrodermis is supposed to be formed as whatever it wants, you could use these just about anywhere Id imagine
What does Slaanesh use to fish?
Haha, wow thats khorney
Wow, nice work, very cool
Awesome looking models, and well painted too! I love the glow from the crystals on the deceiver. How tall are the models? Same as the real ones?
Space Wolves (Under Construction) | Circle of Orboros (Under Construction)
Great model for the nightbringer, looks the image of death. I would rather use that TBH than the real thing.
Glad that you approve!
No, the models are smaller than the original C'tans. My Deciver is slender but taller than a Marine, Nightbringer rides high on his weave, and is about the size of a Terminator I think. They are mounted on 40mm Terminator bases so that should give you an idea...
Those look very good. (And your quick paint jobs are better than my taking all the time I can ones.)
I would except those as C'Tan in any game.
And over there we have the labyrinth guards.
One always lies, one always tells the truth, and one stabs people who ask tricky questions.
Judging by the size of the scarabs at the feet of the "nightbringer", He seems to be a little small.
... only triumph could turn pooing his pants into a good thing..
