Welcome to Librarium Online!
I was thinking to my self the other day how I would make a permanent Gaming Board. I was thinking that on a base of 6 or 9mm MDF you could glue pieces of Expanded polystyrene in the places you want hills. Build them up in levels as you would a normal hill. Then smear all purpose filler (not the type that expands) over the edges and work into a smooth natural shape. Most of the work should already be done for you.
For rivers use cardboard for the banks and use the filler again. You could put buildings where you wanted them and use the filler to blend their bases into the ground so they looked like they were there all along. Paint the ground green and give it a coat of flock. Then get to work with the spray on varnish to keep it in place. Ideally don't move it too often.
What do you think?

It is good to see that people are interested in making scenery and telling their ideas here.
Unfortunantly I can't say that opening up new topics without reading the rest of the forum is very popular.
Irecomend you have a look around the forum first for another topic with the title "gaming table" or any other topic with similar content.
