Well the results are in and this Iron Chef of scenery's theme is WHAT EVER THE HELL YOU WANT IT TO BE!! So yeah its up in the air for you to muster the best looking piece of scenery no matter what you want to build.
1. It has to be Scratchbuilt. No using the Cities of Death sprues, or some prefab built GW scenery piece.
2. Bits and some items can be used, but only as long as the main body of the building is scratch built.
3. Secret ingredient must be used somewhere in part or in whole on the piece.
4. Size restrictions for thiscontest are a minimal of 2'' x 2'' and a max of 12'' by 6''. Those are rough dimensions so dont kill yourself if it doesnt fit perfectly into that area.
5. Step by step pictures and some sort of pictoral diary of "how-to" your building must be made into a seperate thread, so others can check out your winning piece and say " oh cool i can make that myself."
The dead line will be JUNE 20th, three weeks away. If that isnt enough time then a week extension will be given out.
Now go forth and builld. Once you ahve some pictures open up a WIP thread and may the best builder win.
And the Secret Ingredient is.....
*long drum roll *
*Waits for someone to post it.*
Rome wasn't built in a day, Either should good scenery.
Can the secret ingredient be garlic? My terrain piece would fry up real nice with some garlic.
I don't think so, that would be a smelly piece eventually.
I wish I could come up with an ingredient but I have NO CLUE
David, if you post the secret Ingredient first, then we don't have to wait for Minus T.
I'm sure he won't mind. Let one of the official LO guys do the posting..none for you, Gauss_storm.
go for it, LO official people..first thing posted we're running with. (please no soda can)
*jumps up and down excitedly*
With no further ado, I present you with the SECRET INGREDIENT for Iron Chef Scenery II!
It's My Secret Unicorn!
Okay, okay. It's not My Secret Unicorn, but part of you wishes it was. Anyhow, you have to understand that I've built terrain once. Once, and only once for a reason. When you attempt something new and fail as badly as I did that one time I tried to make a woodstand for my Wood Elves, you don't bother wasting time trying to improve. You just go ahead and decide to stick with painting minis.
On top of that, I don't play 40K. To be honest, it's utterly foreign to me, despite 4 years of solid warhammering. I see games played once in a while, and I look at the pictures in White Dwarf and think, Huh, that looks kinda cool.
So I wandered around the house, looked through my toolbox, tried to form a mental picture of what it would take to embellish a Holy Emperor theme and decided on an oldtime craft favorite. Thanks to this secret ingredient, arts teachers everywhere can keep 8 years old busy for hours.
So with no further ado....the SECRET INGREDIENT for Iron Chef Scenery II!
The humble toothpick! You must use 100+ toothpicks, available at local grocers, to qualify as having used the secret ingredient.
Be creative. Here's a little bit of inspiration for you.
Hmmm 100 tooth picks..... I'll see what I can do with that.
PS David.... your really going to drive me insane with all these tooth picks.

This should be interesting....
IRON CHEF SCENEY II
I hope so, because I have no idea if toothpicks is a good ingredient or not, but I was asked, so I responded.
Good luck everyone. I look forward to seeing what you do.
You should consider adding a link in your signature to "raise awareness" among the assembled masses of LO.
That'll teach you lot not to be patient...!
Best of luck with it!
edit: David's point about sigs etc is a very good one, most people on LO don't frequently visit the Scenery forums, so it's definately worth advertising yourself outside (through sigs/profiles/etc), to get a few more people watching and/or participating...
minus_t's painting log! Now with: More Wolves and Blue Robots!
