Hey guys, not sure if this post has already been made (had a look though, and thought this would be the place to make it) but does anyone else listen to music whilst they paint? Or whatever, what puts you "in the zone"?
I was just listening to a podcast while I was painting my first ever model XD.
Hehe. When I paint my 'Nids (and put them together, for that matter) I listen to the Zerg music from Starcraft - very fitting, I think, for 'Nids =] (sometimes I also have DoW music on too... lol love for 40k)
I listen to the radio (Triple J) or classical music:happy:.
CHK CHK BOOM!
I killed the prom queen is good, its so evil and insane, very fitting for painting chaos or orks
I listen to lots and lots of stuff, depending one what kind of painting I'm doing.
I normally try to match moods somewhat, so if I'm painting a single mini and trying to get it as nice as I can, it'll be something fairly calming and gentle (65daysofstatic, godspeed you black emperor, yoko kanno etc etc), wheras if I'm speed-ish painting minis in a vague attempt to get an army finished it'll be something a bit more frenetic (gay for johnny depp, alexisonfire, muse etc).
I also often have DVDs on my laptop whilst painting, just for some background noise.

I pretty much chuck all my music on at once, I have a serious issue with NEVER being able to stick with just one song/band/album so I just stick it all on and see what happens.
I wish I had music DVDs but the bands I like don't make them besides killswitch engage and I already own that.
I like t ohave some background noise whilst I paint, most music'll do the job or something I've watched before. Conversation works really well too.
Up, up and away!
I listen to the radio whilst painting.
I find that when (note the "when") something goes wrong, I remain more collected.
I do the same thing i do when i'm working behind the c, the same song over and over again. That gets you in the zone (the zone man! the zone!).
Got a "good" rumour from a GW staffer? Forget about it, LO'ers know more than any random GW shop staffer.
