i have some marines i did a year ago, but i have improved immensly in painting skills and i didn't clean the flash off before i painted them, which i hate myself for....anyway i am going to use either pine sol or castrol superclean, but i want to know, does it still work even with 2 coats of matt varnish sprayed on them? thanks for your help
also, why are there no angry smileys?
chaos marines have the chaos gods on their side, but space marines have games workshop on theirs

Now back to the topic. I have never heard of using Pine Sol for removing paint. I'm sure it's great for dirt and dust, but not for acrylics. I have heard of people using Simple Green or controlled amounts of nail polish remover.

OK, first up:
Stripping minis is a very common subject.
Just a few posts below this one I can see a thread about stripping plastic minis (*here*), and in the stricky "Useful threads" post, I can find an even more comprehensive post about stripping (*here*).
So, next time you want to ask about something, please do a bit of searching first?
It makes everyone's life much easier, and keeps the forum free of the same old subjects, covered again and again.
Finally, as you did ask, if you want to take off varnish, the best way I've found is to use a cotton wool ball soaked in acetone (I use very cheap nail-polish remover), and scrub the model all over. This will take off the varnish with no problems, and you can then either continue to scrub, or put the models in any other stripping agent of your choice (see threads above for more info).
Anyway, thread closed.
