Worked on this guy since this morning, very pleased with the results although he's not -quite- finished (the base, a couple of little bone spikes on the knees and some chainmail hidden away behind his leg to go, as well as his dragon-thing), but here he is:
And a couple of pictures I forgot to rotate:
I'm really liking working with dark flesh + bleached bone - they mix really well
The wing is nice and horrific.
For some criticism:
I'd definately do the cloak a different colour though, as it is it looks too similar to the armour. Try black out, or something.
The sword is a little dull too, work your silvers up somewhat by adding in Mithril Silver, and for the love of god, don't drybrush a sword with no texture on it!
The skin (especially the face) could do with a little more definition too, if I'm being critical, especially under his chin. His cheeks (for instance) are very well defined, but his chin isn't.
Pretty good work bud.
Told you you could paint.

Somehow I knew you would mention the sword - all I have is BGM, will have to fix that
I'll get some more tones on the chin later I wanna do something about the imbetweeny bits on the wings but i'm not sure how, the little ridges seem a bit messy :/
I like that wing, it has some cool colour combinations in it.
I'm curious about this model though, ever since I've seen it I've wondered
Does this vampire only have 1 wing? it's very hard to tell.
and if so, why?!?!? Why only 1???
please satiate my curiousity
and keep it up, i think it looks pretty rockin
It only has one wing - for the moment. Vampires can transform into a winged, bat-like form - this vampire is in transition from one form to another, or alternatively just showing off, giving the awesome pose.
Oh btw, I finished the dragon and done some touch ups. The dragon is green, and makes up for the cape imo
Ugly sculpt but that's not your fault.
Mostly I'ld just recomend a wash or two on the flesh, specifically the face, to bring out the detail.
As for the sword you can highlight with white and shade with black without any problems. (mixing colours of course)
Up, up and away!
To each his own I guess, I really like the mini itself
Practically finished him and started on something else already, the old Chaos limited edition character, and tried to start on the White Dwarf (who is on hold until I get some more skull white). Will post pics
For now, here's the practically finished vampy:
Sorry, no daylight bulb this time - mine went out, should be working again by sunrise
