They look a little glossy in the picture, is that just the Light or the camera?
Looks as if you have afew blodges of paint on chainswords and stuff, try checking over them then paint over your mistakes .
Also your paint looks a little thick, try thinning it down a little.
Even so, they look quite good, and I can't wait to see more of your progress.
are you aware that pre heresy chain axes were used rather than chain swords?
get a khorne berzerker box. gives you running legs cool helms (when shaven) and chain axes and archaic looking bolt pistols and plasma pistols! even better you get 12 in a box 2 more than reg marines.
Look pretty sweet to me!!

Very nice indeed! Is that HB converted from plastic or is it an original metal one?
Awesome paintjob on Alexis Pollux. Although, looking at him again... isn't the an old Crimson fist Special Character?
Good job on painting the yellow too
I do like them quite a bit, if you drill down the barrels that would make it so much more exciting for me personally, its amazing what a tiny hole can do for a models overall appearance.
I've never been a fan of the beak helmet, but thats not your fault, the studs are wicked too and I've always wanted to try that with a heavy bolter but never had the time to bother with the procrastination express always running on time.
Oh there it is!
Wow... very nice yellow armor. They look a bit... carmalized. Are you dipping them?
also- the middle marine in your first pic looks like he's got some GS armor on there huh ? Very cool, all the studs.
How are you attaching them? They are pin-heads right (the studs, not the marines ), so how do you get a tiny drop of glue like that?
You really should look into the berzerker box. During the crusades, they were JUST phasing out the older amor, so you'd have a mix of not only riveted armor and crusader-helms, but also the armed backpacks. The old pistols, drum-fed bolters, and other weapons from the Chaos sprue are good for pre-heresy marines.
Nice basing, black against any model makes the model really "pop", and you've found a nice black basing method. Good job, can't wait to see it finished!
I use 2 methods for my studs
The mk5 marine has walther plastic rivets(sold online and at railroad shops, they're like using pinheads but come in different sizes and are plastic so I can use smaller ones for his head and bigger ones for the greaves.
The Mk3 marine is havly g/s'd and I did'nt want to drill that many holes in the g/s so I used the pva glue method
Pour a bit on your pallette, piece of scrap paper whatever
take a toothpick dip it in the glue and put a tiny dot wherever you want, let dry and repeat
By the 6th or 7th pass they will be stud sized
I do have the bezerker bits but I am saving them for the Blood Angels
I actually have a super sized bits collection, probally enough to do a battle company if I added my sm and chaos together.
