I needed a break from my Vostroyan project (see sig) and since my Ultramarines are pretty much done, I decided to give painting yellow a try and hence I went for a couple of Imperial fists models. Nice addition with my UM & Vostroyans in Apocalypse battles.
I'm not sure where I'm going with this. So far I have 3 marines done, Lysander, a Whirlwind & a Vindicator. 2 models are recently assembled with minor conversions. I tend to use Imperial fists shoulderpads & a fists backpack here and there. I acquired about 10 IF terminator shoulderpads from Forgeworld, so I guess they'll be somewhere to be done too. Titanhammer formation anyone?
So without further ado;
3 Marines (Sarge w/ Powerfist, a Meltagun marine & a Bolter one)
I think the bases are a bit bland, but then I'm not a fan of leaving bases unpainted, so thats probably why.
I like the Vindicator though, and the dirt effect on the front plow and the bottom of the tracks.
All in all, good work. Tis always good to break off and paint some else from your main projects I think. Helps keeps things fresh I feel, while at the same time being able to help give you experience on different models and using different colours.
