Alright, if any of you have read my last post about Green Stuff, I was planning to use it to make an entire High Elf army. Many people said that was impossible, many others said it was possible but would be extremely difficult for someone with no experience with green stuff (me). Now that I have that out of the way, my next, defiantly crazy, probably stupid, plan is to make full size swords and shields out of green stuff with a more solid core, such as plasticard or possibly metal. Now, to my understanding, which isnt much when it comes to this, when Green stuff hardens, it is just as strong as the plastic that the GW models are made from. I would also like these to be full contact weapons, if that is possible. Now, I know most of you are itching to utterly destroy my plans, so , as I once said to Chuck Norris minutes before receiving a roundhouse kick to the face, "BRING IT!"

I don't understand why you would do this. Have you ever played Warhammer with real GW models? They're really nice, and although they can be expensive, the general consensus here seems to be that they're worth it...
If you're a seasoned converter looking for a challenge I guess you could try it, but I don't really see the point... yours aren't going to look better than GW's probably. And you said you have no experience sculpting? Unless you're naturally very talented, it's difficult even with a lot of practice. I guess I just don't understand your motives.
Im not asking for advice on making the army, I know I wont be able to do that, Im asking now if anybody thinks its possible to make full sized swords and shields with plasticard or wood cores out of green stuff. As for why, Im just bored and Im looking for a good challenge.
why wouldn't it be possible? you would need a hell of a lot of green stuff to do it though!
Back in the zone!
Yes, it will take a lot of the "Stuff" but it only costs 8 bucks a pack...wow, that will still be a lot of money. Maybe its not such a good idea after all.

to do so you would need to look at all the different stuffs.
Brown stuff, Green stuff, procreate, kneadatite.
Find the one with the best characteristics, such as hardness, ability to file down, stickability to wood/plastic core, then find the best price on teh interwebs.
If you buy it from GW for the hideous overpricing they do, you are a fool. They buy it in bulk and stick a wee bit in a blister pack. Can't remember the name of the stuff but you can buy much more for cheaper in bulk.
it might pay to make a sword but in the scale of a dagger, to get a feel for what you're doing. Don't listen to the nay sayers. all they can say is Nay! fah!
Eldar ~7k, Orks ~11k, Tyranids ~1k5, Space Wolves ~1k
Thank you Miasma, finally someone says it can be done instead of saying how crazy I must be. The only thing i would like to ask is where I can get it in bulk, as in a block of 5 pounds, maybe.

Its really simple, Scibor made a guide [link] that you could incorporate into shields and such (simple stuff), The sword are also simple too, like you said "with a more solid core, such as plasticard" thats all you would need (with a little decoration with GS). I thank this is a really good idea for models that you want to make look more customized to your liking like a whole unit or your General. If your like me and you have lots of time to fool around with your models then this idea is OK for you.
Im not talking about weapons for my models, im talking about making full size swords, as in be able to duel my friends with them if they are strong enough.
