Yesterday I tried on a leman russ turret on a chimera and it looks really cool, so now im thinking about building a new tank called StürmTiger (it almost look like a german tiger tank)

For the rules I thought of giving it souped up engines making it fast, and manuverable, ideas on rules and the idea

    1. Don't make it agile, it's not like an ordance weidling tank will move a lot.

    2. Let's make the rules for it tomorrow night, i'll bring the VDR.

If you guys know each other, a phone/private message/when you meet each others, would be a better way to tell him that you're bringing the VDR.

As for the tank, A chimera with a big cannon on it wouldn't be that fast. If you for an example look on a salamander that is the fast version of the chimera it's very striped down to save weight.
I think it would be better off with the normal rules for moving, and I doubt it would move that much if it has a heavy cannon.
Also, it might have some extra protection if it has a big gun.

There is already a chimera with a battlecannon. Or there was at least. It was called 'Chimedon' and there were rules for it in Citadel Journal 11 (October 1995) along with the 'Chimerax' and 'Chimerro'. (No I didn't have all that in my head :)
They were all basically chimeras with different turrents. Chimedon had a battlecannon of course, Chimerax had quad-autocannons and Chimerro had a multilaser and a self-reloading hunter killer missile. I think they still had transport too.

thx for all the tips, but making it fast is the whole point. Why put a battlecannon on a chimera when you can have it on a leman russ? so the big advantage would be that you could have a fast moving ordnance weapon that could outflank your opponents and make him scared.

Ya and the fact that a chimera is easy to blow up makes up for the advantage of haveing an ordenance weapon.

We already have what essentially amounts to a sturmtiger. It's called a Vindicator.

I have no idea, but I do think that the idea of a Chimera with a big gun is pretty cool.

When you think about it, what the Imperial Guard really does not have is a good tank destroyer: something fast, light, and with a really big gun. Run up, take a shot or two, then reposition and repeat.
