Welcome to Librarium Online!
I would like to know where everyone gets their inspiration from to make their own colour scheme, whether it be form another army, a movie or even the zoo.
I got mine from the zoo, i was looking for a new bright colour scheme for my Tau and as i stared into the tigers area looking for it, as it camouflaged perfectly, i spotted it and knew that i had to have it on my Tau and they look great.
So whats your Inspiration.
- Your death is left in the hands of Cronus for he is the master of time.

For the goblins im building up: I got kinda interested in Vlad Tepes, him being all badass and cool, so i looked up for a flag of Wallachia (Province he ruled over) and started painting my gobbos after those colors. I will convert a big boss to a Vlad with that funny hat lateron too ^^
I'll prolly smack up some pics on the night goblins. Almost done.
First of all, watching the history show on the Vikings Inspired me to get into the Space Wolves, as they fulfill that likeness. I wanted them to look rugged and warn, like true Vikings, so I put wolf pelts wherever I could, on the arms, shoulders, powerpaks and legs. Yep, even the guns.
One of my fellow wolf players said they looked like yetis, as his were clean and uniform.
If Wolves were meant to fly, wouldn’t the Emperor have given them wings?
Anime, TV, movies, video games, even those sketches of units in the codexes. Movies are a great way to come up with some inspiration involving fluff for your army.

For my friends IG army, we watched saving private ryan, starship trooper, a few old babylon 5 episodes, the 3 original starwars movies and the original and frank herbert's remake of Dune. We got alot of good ideas so we took them all down on paper as we wached the movies... (long rainy weekend) and now his army is really nice and coherent.
I had this long signature made up, but I didnt like it...
I get my color schemes from... sports teams... and conversions from history and movies... you can find a lot of cool old pictures in rogue trader stuff... they're pretty inspiring too.
Tomb Kings, Marines, Eldar
I use either the codex scheme, a chapter scheme, or my fav color combo (red, black, grey, and maybe a little gold on important charas). Some people just surf around and find something they like and use it. I dunno.
Well since I collect Spacewolves for 40k the color is pretty much given by GW only using their shoulderpads to diverse betwen packs.
When it comes to my woodies I go for greens and browns (obviously) and just throws in the occasional white, blue, red or whatever color I want for trim capes etc.
I get my inspiration from White Dwarf to be honest. I see some person's army and I think, that'd look nice and I mix and match different colours and styles until I get it right. That and the conversions in my local GW, they're simply amazing.

I like red and black,it's part of the reason i chose BA.Plus all my WH guys are primarily red and black and if i start another army (which will probably be IG or Tau) they'll be primarily Red and Black...
