i am looking for some DE conversion ideas to spark my own it can be whatever miniature your converting to just seeing what other people have done
I converted an incubi to be riding a jet bike with a sword. He represents my lord on bike w/tormentor helm and power weapon.
I also converted Drahazar to be holding a punisher; He represents my Lord on foot with punisher and tormentor helm.
I converted my grotesques from a zombie regiment spru and plastic warrior bits.
Converted wyches from warhammer fantasy wyches, all I did was replace some of their blades with splinter pistols, or added holsters.
I also chopped the drivers out of the raiders and lowered the "sail" portion of the raiders about an inch to lower their profile. I then moved the steering console to the front and had the guy up front driving and mounted the dark lances/disintegrators underneath. This makes the raiders look allot faster, and sleeker.
Umm.. I converted all my blasters from the incubi blasters mounted on plastic warriors for half of them, the other half is just the metal gun bit from the metal special weapon guys mounted on plastic bodies.
I converted banners for each of my units from dark eldar warrior banners from WHFB.
That’s all I can think of right now. I think I covered pretymuch every conversion in my army.
my borther used the sprues from the starter box set and a little creative carving for the mouth and made one dark eldar guy look like he was reciting that "alas poor urich" scene from hamlet with the skull and everything,it's great,he's got one hand over his heart and everything..
Hey, a kindred spirit. Like you, my grots are primarily bits from the zombie/skelli sprues mixed with a variety of other models. I like to tweek the store owner (plays Biel Tan and High Elves), so there's some guardians and maidenguard in there.
The "sail" as you call it on the raiders has always bugged me. I sawed mine off at the narrowest part of the support (right behind the seat), and replaced it with the small pointy prow bit. I then take the sail, turn it upside down and put it under the prow. This creates a kind of a "cow catcher" like assembly that looks as though it would cut a marine in half. Also, a model can stand on the wing and jump off, leading to a better illusion that the raider can carry 10 models.
As for my rjb lord, I used the body of the jetbike pilot, a cape from a chaos warrior, the head from an incubi, and a sword from a Dark Elf witch.
Speaking of which, my wyches are nearly all Dark Elf witches, with one sword removed and a splinter pistol added. Likewise, my mandrakes are all Dark Elf shades, with the crossbow removed and a pistol added. (incidently, I've run out of pistols! anyone know of a good substitute?)
I think that's just about it. More as I think about it . . .
Raider Conversion. First, i cut up the horizontal stabilizers int eh back, along with the pilot seat. I seperated just the seat with a back from the rest. Then i separeted the horizontal stabilizers into 2, and glued them onto the back, one on each side, like vertical stablizers. Then i cut of a piece of plasticard, and glued that to the back, where the driver used to be. The DL gunner is mounted on it. Then, the driver and the seat is mounted where the DL gunner was ORIGINALLY intended to be. The big blade that is on top of the seat before i cut it up is not facing the front, in the front/bottom of my raider. The other blade on the spruce is at the back, facing back, and the 2 little blade thingys are on the hull, facing front, in alignment with the hull. To balance things, i superglued AAA batteries inside of the raider, slightly to the back. In the end, i have an awesome machine that kicks the ass out of any standard raider. My next conversion will be the Eldar howling banshee Pheonix Lord, i'm gonna converted it into a wych succubus, it'll work cuz the Pheonix Lord has got insane looking weapons.

Basing you army on an american football team might not be everyones cup of tea, but mr. Kilgore has a very interesting article on starting a new army: http://www.thewarp.net/war/tigersofveda/idea1.html
He even has some conversions!
i play regular eldar, but if you guys have somehting that is equivalent of the guardian and is put togetehr in much the same way (i hope you do otherwise the rest of this is worthless), then they are very convertible. everything is done with ball and socket type joints on guardians so you have a lot of flexibility. putting a horned chaos space marine head on a guardian is very cool.
