Welcome to Librarium Online!
First, an objective marker (WIP)
Another objective marker in progress. The border will be striped yellow and black, the middle will be painted like diamond plate, and the two pieces in the middle will be gun metal with rivets.
The inspiration for the second is this:
Lastly, I'm working on a refinery piece. Here's a mock up
The tanks will be sprayed rust brown primer and the pipes will be rusty gun metal. I'll put a ladder up both towers, one on each side and the whole thing will be mounted on a piece of MDF. I've cut out some foil from a bottle of wine to use as patches on the tanks and some liquitex paynes grey leaking out from one of the patches will make a nice oil leak. Naturally, I have to join all of the pieces, putty the joins, and file down all of the moulded letters on the piping.
Very Very nice, I love the team fortress inspiration for the second piece. These should all be great piece when they are done being painted. Except for the first, its already awesome.
Yay!!! now that you've but It on the table I expect to see a TF2 map to scale
anywho its all very nice and the detail on the first objective marker is great.
The third piece looks like it should shape up well also.
The capture point primed black, drybrushed with VMC Gunmetal and then the plate is washed with Devlan Mud and then some Bestial Brown and Blazing Orange is applied to the edges
I used some tape I got from the local RC store to mask off the areas that were going to be painted with the yellow stripes
One coat of Dheneb Stone followed by a coat of Golden Yellow
And the tape comes off. I was really happy with the result.
Enough work for this morning. Time to go to the parade.
whoa!! that idea turned out great!!
that would be an awesome objective marker!
have some rep, on the house.
Hahaha great idea! Rep for you!
The Emperor set a fire in their hearts that they might burn the iniquitous and the impure from his sight. And the light of that flame shall be as a beacon to the faithful, a light that shines in the darkest places.
Someone asked how I did the lettering. I cheated. First, I found a good font, ICBM SS-20, and printed it out in 14 point bold. I had to experiment a bit to find the font and size that would look nice. Here's what it looks like originally, in larger font:
Once I had the right font and size, I printed it on a piece of photo paper, cut out the lettering, and kept a frame around it. It came out looking a little like this:
Where the white part is where I cut out the lettering, the blue is the remaining frame, and the line down the middle marks the center point.
I taped this to my objective marker and painted inside the box, starting with the midpoint, 'E' and then worked right and backwards left. The sequence of lettering was E-P-O-I-N-T-R-U-T-P-A-C. Once I competed side A, I removed the mask and did the same for side B.
