I will start off by saying Hello and this is my first post of these forums. Now onto my problem
I am currently starting work on a deamonhunters army and I have a nice idea for my inquisitor conversion but I fear that once it is done and painted it will look too much like a grey knights grand master or brother captain.
Here is what I have planned
My inqusitor has the following items (Terminator Armour, Psycannon, Deamonhammer)
Space Marine Terminator Captain Model - I have cut the sword arm off so now the model is armless. I will also add a hood to the models face.
Next step I am thinking of putting on a Grey Knight Terminator Psycannon arm. This fills the require ment for having a psycannon without me having to make my own.
After this I was going to stick a Grey Knight Terminator Halberd on the other side of the model. I would then cut of the blade but of the halberd and attach a thunder hammer head to it. (To make it look like a deamonhammer)
As for paint scheme I was thinking of doing it codex grey with blue robes.
Now the problems is if I did the above conversions and paint scheme I think that in the end the model would look like a Grey Knight hero instead of an inquisitor.
What are you thoughts on this. (If you could understand the post)
Try painting him something other than gray, that should help, but you're going to end up with something similar to a grey knight no matter what you do as long as you use their arms.
Paint him in some Inquisitory colours. Any way you do it, he'll look kinda like a Grey Knight, because of the Terminator Armour. Good luck!
Maybe do a Black and regal blue? Or even mix the black with a litte bit of white to get a darker shade of grey. I personally disdain the brown look on the Inquisitors.
"Can you put that in a memo and title it '***** I already know!'"
Church: "Ok, so we're agreed? You first!"
Sarge: "Get on with it, Griff."
Griff: "I'd just like everyone to know: that I suck."
Griff: "And that I'm a girl..."
Church: "What else?"
Griff: "And I like ribbons in my hair, and I want to kiss all the boys."
Sarge: "This has to be the best surrender of all time."
I've done something similar for my Inquisitors. Both of them have DA Vet Sergeant bodies (the ones in robes, one of the two has a hood), GK Termie psycannon arms and GK Termie sword arms (used as CCW or PW if I have the points).
To make them look different from my GK army, I trimmed the little ridge off the shoulders so they looked slightly smaller, and painted the arms white. The gold detail is still gold, and the robes on their bodies are scab red. Seeing as my GK army's scheme is silver with a great deal of red, and gold/white/black detailing, the two Inquisitors look like they belong to the army, but stand out as seperate pieces (Both Inquisitors' retinue's are all wearing red robes as well, so they appear as slightly more sinister squads in a noble-looking GK army).
use some modeling putty to make a cape to get that Inqusitor look, or just use the borther captain model to atleast get some cloth on him =)
for colors make more gold details on the armour, ad some reds and whites and maybey some blacks....
the existing inqusitor models all have kind of roman armours and clothing on em, use that as a inspiration..
