Welcome to Librarium Online!
I had to make 88 rivets for my refinery and I was not about to cut them all by hand, so ... remembering a remark from another forum member (possibly on Dakka Dakka), I went out and bought a leather punch, found an old Starbucks gift card, and wrote everything up.
By George thats brilliant!!! Im going to buy one tomorrow. Rep for you my friend.
EDIT(evidently ive given you to much rep recently, so i give you mental rep and kudos)
LOL. I hand cut 8 rivets for my objective marker and thought that was a pain in the ass, then I counted up all of the rivets I needed for the refinery, of a larger size, and nearly had a seizure.
Great find! I've been making rivets for my orks using drops of glue and it looks terrible but this is far superior
Great idea. I can take it one step further for those who still have yet to go out and buy a normal rotary punch.
The type of punch Iffy is using is a Leather Punch (probably from tandy leather factory)
It makes multiple sized holes, but the smallest is still bigger than the GW molded on rivets. (i know because I own three of those leather punches)
So i did some research and found a 1/16 hole punch.
look at a ruler..see all those little hash marks..in one inch, there are 16 hash marks..
the smallest the leather punch does is three of those hash marks wide..
the one I am about to link you does 1 of those hash marks WIDE!
One Hole Punches and Circle Punch - 1/16 to 1 inch to 3 inch
scroll down to the product listing, and it's the 2nd one on the list.
It also has a deeper neck, "long reach" so you can use full sheets of bigger plastic bits to punch your rivets out of without cutting away the edges to get to the middle of the cards or whatever.
check it out. 8.00 for a punch...totally worth it.
i'll post pics up of the difference in size when I get home.
Rome wasn't built in a day, Either should good scenery.
That site just reminded me that if you go to scrapbooking store (or section), you can find patterned punches too, which are nice for insignia and shields. You can find leaves, card suit patterns, suns, etc.
