This Tau only had one arm, so he makes a good test figure. Does this color scheme work out ok? I've only done basecoat (spray), pants, and wash. Haven't painted any of the lenses or feet (not even sure what color those should be)
For reference, here's what the vehicles look like, so I'm looking for tan and green to be my main colors.
It is very pleasing on the eyes. I say go for it. Very nice indeed. Personally I would like to see some up close shots but from what I can tell very clean and precise.

It's also really easy to do. The figure is probably less than 10 minutes of work:
Spray prime with Rustoleum Camo Tan
Wash body with Liquitex Burnt Umber
Wash gun with 2 coats of Badab Black
Basecoat pants with Snot Green
Wash pants with Liquitex Paynes Grey
Edge with a little bit of Dheneb Stone.
I like the green, but not the other...erm...
For some odd reason, it reminds me of polished bone or the weird plastic color on old computers. Shows you how TOTALLY AWESOME the paint job is.
A little bit more of either green or another color would be more pleasing to my eyes. Otherwise, it looks very clean and professional; I just prefer flamboyant models, which is why I play Lizardmen.
I may add another color to the circle icon on the gun and the sept stripes on the helmet. There is also the chest emblem and the feet. Need to figure out what to do with those, which would also add some color and break up the tan
I quite like the colour scheme, though I agree adding a bit of colour to the circle icon (stabiliser?) on the gun might help.
For some reason, I immediately thought painting the circle on the chest green (same colour as the pants) would look good. And the first colour I thought of when you mentioned adding sept stripes was bright orange.
Not sure if that would work with your model and/or the rest of your army, though.
I really like thsi colour scheme. It works very well and as said, is easy on the eyes. I'd like a close up, but judging how well it looks from here I can see it being really good looking.
I think your colour scheme looks very good. You have also painted it well which is good. I think the only areas you really need any work on might be a few details. Tau have the whole super advanced gadget thing going and a few tiny details picked out with silver would help to reinforce that. However that is only a minor point as said the colour scheme is excellent and the models are very well painted.
I like how the vehicle seems to be of the same paint job but in a way looks different in that it is lighter looking. I think your colour scheme does work out OK and I would find it cool to play against an army as well painted as that one.
The color scheme looks great in my opinion, as anything Tau with white as primary looks fantastic and very clean.
