Wasn't sure where to put this as they have no Codex entry.....
I'm looking for suggestions for an alternative colour scheme for a deathwatch squad I'm converting, they're to accompany my various other inquisition elements in my guard army, with an overall palette of black and red with gold and white trims and details. The standard deathwatch paint scheme is boring and I really can't be bothered painting standard black marines, so I thought....
How about black with a dark red lacquered effect on the edges of the armour, might make them stand out?
sound good? And any suggestions on how to achieve this? I've been looking through this months white dwarf, and there is an article on painting corsairs (though obviously different colors), so I'm thinking this is a good starting point.
Yes if you think of it you only need to prime them black and then give a red hue to the black wherever you need it... so think of the new washes... Baal Red in some layers might do the trick...
In any case try putting picturs on so we might give another tip or give you a new approach!
Thanks to all the people showing faith in me
I sometimes feel that everyone will leave me and they will be on their own...
Cheers guys, I hadn't thought of the new washes, I haven't had chance to try them yet. Pictures is an issue at the minute, my camera broke so I'm working my way towards a new one, are the washes effective? I wasn't keen on the old inks.
I may put the project on hold until such time as I can acquire a camera then, and just continue to finish off the conversion work.
