Hey guys. I finally got a cam that works properly, so I snapped a few shots of my WIP Imperial Fists Second Company.
As you probably know, I'm a sucker for converting so they are mostly conversions. There will be more soon.
Here's my Captain. He's based on the Hellbrecht body. I drilled out his head and added a new one, gave him new arms and a scratch-built thunder hammer. The backpack is also scratch-built from different bits. It was hell to get rid of the left ar especially, and it left some bits that were really difficult to hide, even with green stuff, so I added a couple of wavy bits taken from a High Elf musician.
He's about 40% finished, and I'm taking it slowly. I'm quite pleased with him so far.
This is the Veteran Sergeant from my Captain's command squad. He is fairly straightforward. Not really any conversion work done, just a lot of different bits put together.
This is my Company Champion. He is slightly more converted than the sergeant. I used a regular sergeant torso, and ground down the 'speaker' bit to make a Fist icon. The left arm is a chainsword arm with an old Power Axe attached. I put a spiky bit from the Chaos sprue on the axe to give it more balance, along with a few purity seals. The shield is from the standard WFB shield sprue with an eagle from the IG tank sprue added, along with a trimmed-down Fist icon from Forge World.
More to come soon. Let me know what you think. C&C welcome!
Bobba painting?! YAY! I love the look of the commander dude, looks really good. The only thing I can see is that the helmet looks a little odd in place of the original head- not sure why though. Otherwise, he looks great.
I think it's because the guard that comes up as a collar around and in front of what was Helbrecht's head is still there - so the head sticks up too much. You could either file it down, or use a different type of helmet that would fit better into the recess.
Other than that they look great - and you're very brave to combine yellow and gold!
I actually played around alot with the head before pinning it on, and I found that he is the same hight as other Space Marines. Hellbrecht's chest just seems to be built differently.
I could have put the head down into the chest, but I wanted a beakie helmet so I had to do something. I also think that the lack of backpack makes hs head look higher at the moment.
Thanks for the replies! And yes, Kuffy. I'm posting pics! And these won't be the last...
if i could do a chapter already created, it wold be salamanders or imperial fists...i love them and these look great, i also love the mk 6 (i think) helmet on the commander...they look awesome
chaos marines have the chaos gods on their side, but space marines have games workshop on theirs
Nice- I really like the marine fists on the back pack. I might have to borrow that idea.
No more NG spearmen, thanks! Now I need some pump-wagons!
Great conversions and painting! I'm not a fan of yellow but it looks stellar on these figures.
I am a little curious about something though. The feet look a bit nibbled. Is that the camera or the result of centuries of battle?
That's muck and dirt. I never understand how so many Space Marines manage to keep their feet nice and clean. Mine get down and dirty!
How do you get such an amazing yellow on your figs? I haven't tried yet but if mine could look a fraction as good as yours I'll be pleased
