Right, so I got Necrons now and I plan to paint the Res orb on my lord something cool, but I also want varnish to make it look extra mystifying. What varnish do you people use? The guy at the store said wood varnish wouldn't stick and that was all they had.
So pretty much, the question is, what kind/type of varnish is good for painting on top of a acrylicly painted surface, such as a model.
edit: Also, this has to do with scenery because my lava river will also need varnish... Just wasn't sure which forum to put this in; painting or scenery

I use GW's Gloss Varnish for such things as models. Though it could be a bit expensive for using on Scenery. Not sure what you should use there, but I do think there's quite a few brands to pick from. Maybe the 'ard coat on spraycan could work for you.
Just make sure to cover all areas you don't want to be glossy.
