iv not been playing long but iv taken an interest in scenery im looking for ideas on scenery that don't require plasticard or sprue's.
iv got lots of Styrofoam(i know its no good but im working with it)and cardboard and other household stuff iv got a bit of craft stuff and hoping to buy more but any ideas are helpful links or pictures would help lots thanks.
P.S. i have seen a few things on the forums like Triple Threat's marine temple and the tau firing platform and there giving me some good ideas but any help whatsoever is welcomed. (i have a blood angels marine army if anyone wondered)
First of all what kind of styrofoam are you using? the white stuff?
Give the scenery index a good look, there are a few tutorials and great terrain in there.
My number one advice is cut everything with a x-acto knife. Other than that I don't really specifically know what you want, I can give you more advice when you decide what you want to do.
sorry for not being specific i have the white styrofome (the one made of balls) i curently have made a sort of base, temple, monostary(all of these sort of fit it) for the imperium and some fireing platforms not much els at the moment anything to fit a blood angels army would do like a baracks or a fortification (small walls sand bag walls ect) something that fits my army and is made of basic household things.
P.S i love the whole iron chef thing its quite intresting what people make.
Hi Hisop, welcome to LO scenery.
Welcome to the wonderful world of finger cuts, glue on clothes and messes i nthe house that get you yelled at! (but damn it's fun!)
As gauss said, the Index is the first stop for anyone looking for help on how to start making terrain.
then, you should scope through the endless pages of posts here in the scenery forum
(not all the good scenery posts made it to the index..but salmon is trying hard to keep up)
Next..whether you have the talent or not...DRAW.
draw out what you want. Draw out sketched..they don't have to win awards, just convey what you're trying to accomplish.
or make a list of the things you think would 'be cool" to have for your blood angels
(btw, i'm repainting all my iron hands to BA.. )
this will give you a list of things to look for across all the different forums. (not just LO's, but i must say, LO's is the best.)
Iron chef is another great idea factory. sometimes people make some scenery for one army, which will kick your brain in the face and give you a cool idead about making something for your army.
Also, once you have your list, post some ideas up here in the forums, so some of us vets can kick out a few directions you can take to start making the scenery.
oh yeah..one last thing...PICS.....most of the people here want to see visual status..not just words. so when you do start something...click some pics..it'll help steer ya in the right direction.

I am the master of ball-styrofoam and even I can't use the stuff, its really hopeless, without reading replies I can be assured everyone mentioned what to do, I just wanted to enforce their views are correct.
